Following the former tenant’s court victory over the brewers, we hear that a new front has opened at Well Lane.

Any news from the front?

Yes. Former landlord spotted very early this morning supervising some workmen who dismantled a low fence which the pub had erected to demarcate their (Well Lane) frontage from the rest of the garden. This was supposedly to allow customers to exit the pub via a second door in the event of fire etc…without entering the garden proper and enclosed a strip of land ,maybe about 4 foot wide at right angles to the Christchurch Road.

Update approx 9.30 am. A low brickwork wall currently being erected to replace the previously removed fence….but now located slap bang next to the pub wall and preventing access/egress from side doors of the pub.

Now bricking up the exits from the Plough on to his land. With only one exit can The Plough trade?
