Violin Basil Alter
Piano Julian Chan
An excellent evening was enjoyed by an audience knowledgeable about their classical music.
The whole programme of Stravinsky and Schumann in the first half, Gershwin and less well known pieces by Leclair, Kreisler and Saint-Saens was chosen from among his favourites by Basil.
Some comments
Incredible to watch at close quarters, the violinist’s phenomenal faultless fast finger movement and often playing from memory.
The recital on Friday evening was superb – a real privilege to be so close to such utterly talented musicians.
Two brilliant young musicians. I played the violin for a number of years before switching to guitar. But after seeing Basil I realise there’s no point in dusting down that violin on top of the wardrobe.
We enjoyed the concert: a varied and attractive programme played by two very talented and enthusiastic musicians.
