Roadworks in Sheen Lane

There’s a hole in the road on the station side of St. Leonard’s Road. Three way traffice light control.

Unannounced. No people in it of course at 330pm today.

Add twenty minutes at the level crossing and you have mayhem.

Best avoid.

THAT WAS WEDNESDAY. BELOW IS TODAY

930am NB No start date, no end date, no-one in the hole.

3pm Friday,

Does anyone care?

The traffic is a mess. When on the bike I cycle through when there are no vehicals whatever colour the traffic lights. When in the car I avoid it and use another route. But White Hart Lane is now even busier!!

They should cover the whole with planks when no work is in progress.

There were lots of workmen mid morning. They were changing traffic light batteries. And 2 workmen sitting in their van. Are we surprised at the state of the country!!! Low productivity, low morale, high frustration, no surprise. Just go away on holiday and Hope scandals have diminished. Are we hoping too much?

Apparently all the work – apart from digging the hole and refilling it – is done remotely. Sometimes some organisations put a sign up to this effect which is helpful. This particular roadwork is in just about the worst possible place but they can hardly help that!

    • What does doing the work remotely mean? Why dig a hole if no-one needs to be in it?
Fair comment that they can’t help where it is. But do we know whether anyone responsible for the work is really bothered about the time they are taking and causing local problems? The simple fact is that they dig the hole and seem to disappear.
